Through asana, vinyasa, and seated breathwork, David introduces the energetic map of Hatha Yoga — the network of nadis, the central channel (sushumna), and the bandhas that seal and redirect energy. You’ll learn to sense and visualize the two great movements of prana: • Apanic flow — the descending, contracting energy of exhalation • Pranic flow — the ascending, expanding energy of inhalation These forces meet at the poles of the spine, where mula bandha, uddiyana bandha, and jalandhara bandha regulate and contain the current of life force. The talk portion turns to the energetic language of the mind, exploring prana and vasana — the twin sources of movement within the body-mind field. By refining the breath, we refine desire itself, aligning it with the soul’s noble and original wish — the deepest current of our being. David shows how learning to guide the flow of breath and prana in practice becomes a training ground for guiding the larger forces of passion, purpose, and vision in life.
