Taking Lotus in Inversions: Shoulderstand, Headstand & Forearm Balance

13 mins

This drill trains you to fold into lotus, half lotus, or cross-legs while you’re inverted. You’ll work through a progression from easier to more difficult: shoulderstand, headstand, forearm balance. Timed rounds—one minute in shoulderstand, one minute in headstand, 30 seconds in forearm balance. The focus is on dextrous, froglike leg movement—external rotation, leg forward on the diagonal, then folding into place—done on both sides without losing your balance. It’s playful, intelligent work that builds hip opening and steady control in your inversions.
