Chair Navasana Circuit: Kicks, Twists, and Power Bursts

8 mins

This chair-supported Navasana circuit helps you find a true V-shape in Boat Pose while protecting your lower back and hip flexors. Using the back of the chair to stay on your sitting bones with a neutral, forward-leaning pelvis, you’ll explore the V-leg line of Navasana without collapsing onto your tail. You’ll move through three 15-second drills with 30 seconds of rest: alternating single-leg kicks while maintaining your thigh line, twisting to one side while kicking the opposite leg, and a “burst of power” where you curl in and then shoot arms and legs into a clean, striking Boat Pose. This sequence is repeated for three rounds, with options to rest against the chair or clasp your knees and hover in a mild Navasana between efforts. Throughout, you stay with ujjayi breathing and refine the sweet spot where you can lean back through the chest, keep the pelvis forward, and build strong, clear Navasana work.
