A practice-forward immersion that moves from simple breath awareness to classical prāṇāyāma with bandhas. We begin supine at the wall, observing natural breath, then add ujjāyī and map the apāna (downward, contractile) and prāṇa (upward, expansive) flows along the axis, including attention to the pauses (kumbhaka). Using props (wall, bolster, blocks), we train a powerful, repeatable uḍḍīyāna bandha kriyā—first on the floor, then in Vṛkṣāsana, Adho Mukha Śvānāsana, Daṇḍāsana, Mahā Mudrā, Baddha Koṇāsana, and Padmāsana options. We then work the A & B parts of the Aṣṭāṅga ujjāyī sequence (external and internal retentions with Mūla, Uḍḍīyāna, Jālandhara), introduce Nāḍī Śodhana with Viṣṇu mudrā and clear cueing for each retention, and finish with three paced rounds of Bhastrikā plus contained holds. Throughout, the emphasis is vigorous, whole-body participation—rooting limbs, precise locks, and breath-led rhythm—to cultivate absorption and quiet the mind by organizing energy.
